An important part of a safe holiday is the proper use of safety belts and an alert, unimpaired driver.  The Elgin Police Department's use of Traffic Safety Checkpoints goes a long ways towards assuring that we limit unsafe activities.

The officers of the Elgin Police Department initiated a program to assist the less fortunate in having a happy holiday season.  A variety of toy collection and fundraising events, including the car wash above, were successful in assuring several families had gifts under the tree on Christmas morning.
